Safety Tips
Last Updated: October 20, 2025
These Safety Tips are provided to help you stay safer while using Shiraz and when meeting people in real
life. They are informational and do not replace your judgment or local laws.
1. General Best Practices
- Stay on-platform: Keep conversations in Shiraz until you feel comfortable. Be cautious
if someone pressures you to move to private channels quickly.
- Protect personal information: Avoid sharing your home or work address, specific
locations you frequent, phone number, email, financial information, or any details that could identify
you personally. Stay on the Shiraz platform until you are confident and ready to share information
privately.
- Verify & assess: Look for inconsistencies, money requests, pressure, or threats. Trust
your instincts and report suspicious behavior in-app.
- First meetings: Meet in public places. Tell a friend your plan, arrange your own
transport, and keep your phone charged.
- On-date safety: Watch your drinks, maintain situational awareness, and leave if you
feel uncomfortable.
- Aftercare & reporting: Use in-app reporting/blocking tools. For emergencies or
immediate danger, contact local authorities.
- Location awareness (Area Sharing): the radar shows a dot at a random
point
about 100 meters (≈330 ft) from a person’s real location, refreshed periodically. In
sparse
areas, a dot may still be identifying (e.g., if you’re the only user nearby)—consider turning Area
Sharing off.
- Do not attempt to de-obfuscate locations: Trying to identify a person’s exact address
or movements from radar dots violates our rules and may lead to removal or a ban.
2. Reporting & Support
Use in-app tools to report accounts or content. You can also contact us at support@shirazdate.com. This is not an emergency service.
3. Regional Resources (Non-exhaustive)
In an emergency, call your local emergency number (e.g., 911 in the U.S., 112 in the EU and many
countries). The resources below are for additional support and may change over time.

- National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN): 800‑656‑HOPE (4673), rainn.org
- National Domestic Violence Hotline: 800‑799‑SAFE (7233), thehotline.org
